so. i am in new york city. wow.
ive been here a little over a month and i can't say it feels like home, but it's definetly a nice vacation.
a new friend of mine said, "imagine what you wanted to be doing freshman year, but couldnt and thats what youre doing now." he was quite right. its everything you could want.
ive met incredible people who already feel like long lost friends across the city. i have great classes. theres good music. theres dancing. ahh, its amazing.
but i do miss home. actually its not even home really. i miss something that never existed.
ever since ive got here, ive taken to my "southern roots." all i can really listen to is country. and when i listen to that, i imagine a small southern town i never lived in, with like baptists and moonshine and shit. and i miss it. even though it never was a reality for me.

but the point of this is to let people know im alive. and well. and loving every minute of college. really of life. of being on my own. and that i truly hope that everyone is having the best time of their lives. from the bottom of my heart, i wish everyone happiness right now. (fuck you david hanson. i know what youre thinking during this. ha HHA ha hA ah!)

oh, and apparently pete and kate doherty are looking for a house in new jersey. just what the u.s. needs right? good, i think so too.
also i sang drunk karaoke to oasis too. so if you get sad, picture me doing that. in a bad british accent. and it should cheer you up.

take care,
parker x

I started out on burgundy
But soon hit the harder stuff
Everybody said they'd stand behind me
When the game got rough
But the joke was on me
There was nobody even there to call my bluff
I'm going back to New York City
I do believe I've had enough

the simultaneous howl of wind and ectasy are spraying blood on the canvassed walls of this sacred observatory. looking down like sol invictus upon the masses of charlatans and cretins. They sing songs together...merry songs about crushing the bones of englishman. charles de gaulle sits behind me in the gallery observing the trial. the 3 pm show is surgery. Stitch up your eyelids to end a whiff of integrity to your countenance. blah blah blah. they show up, walk out, wake up, black out, dance, fight, bite. crazy, right? dig? alright man he crawls up through the smoke filled room, a man with a cigarette and a cabbie hat scowls from his seat in the corner. we knew it would come down to this. i always knew it. somewhere, not in my bones, nor my blood. it crepts its way southward like a golden syringe. like a beast. this was beat. was a beat. was certainty. haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaargh. hark.

For those of you who don't know, one of my proudest musical moments was buying Radiohead's OK Computer when I was in 7th grade. Granted that's not too incredible, but being as though I had never heard of them up until that point and the album came out when I was nine, I think it's pretty cool that I bought it when I was about 13. (No matter, Jospeh gets it). Anyway, the story is we'd just gotten BBC America and I caught this performance and was absolutely blown away. So enjoy.

there is not enough time in the day to devote in proportional parts to the people who deserve it. quite unfortunate.
